Im starting this thread with the hopes of finding more information about this subject. Unfortunately online protecting banana fruit sets during winter is a rather obscure topic. Maybe i’m just very unlucky to have my banana growing fruits right when winter was starting? Or maybe it’s just not a big deal and there’s not much to do. I’d like to hear what others have to say/ share your strategies. 

And to show what i’m doing, it’s wrapping the trunks and fruit in incandescent xmas lights and covering the fruits with an old dark colored shirt. see below

Tough to answer not knowing where in Florida you are. Pensacola and Miami are worlds apart. I have seen plants with mature fruit in St. Augustine but it must depend on what season the flowers set.

My bad for not specifying im in St. Augustine. If i still lived in Miami i wouldn’t even be posting this 😂.
