That’s awesome Richard! T nanus is a great palm for small gardens and/or cool/cold climates.

I can get seeds of it I think if there available now but otherwise would have to wait next season or whenever there ready again.

Very nice pictures . I can feel the cool damp air that makes them thrive. Harry

Great photos. Thanks for sharing. I had a few seed but all the seedlings died. I do have a few Naggy x Waggy and some seem to have more nanus in them (I hope!)

Just goes to show it’s a small world with what’s out there in this day and age. I will try and get some seeds.

There are some beautiful parts of the world. I do believe your coming into your winter now fear not the cold and what it will do in your garden. But iam pretty sure one would grow in your garden.

A completely new palm to me will be interesting to grow if I can get some seeds!

Wow!  Great pics!

on a side note, is that a wild horse in that pic?

no wonder Trachys do so well in PNW…those pics look very similar to our winter weather.

Pretty sure it’s a horse be a tough old mare. But it’s great to see a new Trachy palm I might be able grow. But I think it would suit a colder place than my subtropical climate. You might have better luck growing one than me in your climate.

T nanus has grown to 2nd generation in Melbourne in pots by a very skilled grower, so they are tough. The only question would be whether they’d cope with the repeated heat+humidity combination for months up your way.

Yes it’s one thing being able to get the seeds another story getting them to live. But iam a zone pusher so worth a try.
