I got this Chambreyonia Macrocarpa Variant ‘Hookeri from a nursery that bought tons of it from Floribunda palms in Hawaii, the nursery is called “Palm Plantation” its located in Rubidoux, the owner is named Mike, greats palms, very nice owner. The C. Hookeri just had a fully open frond on my Birthday (yesterday) I think of it as a gift, Its impressive, but it has major sun burn damage from labor day weekend 😭😭😭  it was 117 that day, it is now recovering and doing well in Riverside County. Will it survive?

Thanks @lordbiznezz👍😁

It will survive fear not I have a few dozen of them in some pretty hot spots. On very hot days just water the ground it will create more humidity giving the palm a bit more resistance to the scorching sun. The more humidity the more sun a palm can take. Given time your palm will not even look like it had a bad day at the beach. If you’re really worried about it you can place a piece of shade cloth over it for a few summer seasons.

Your C Hookeri looks beautiful, thanks for the tips, it was one a really hot day in Eastvale where it became 117 I think, it was a record, it was 100 constantly. The air felt hot and it was giving off heavy sun burn damage to the C hookeri, C Balansae. The dwarf green Malayan coconut was fine, same for the D Leptocheilos, T Radiata, L Lontaroides and Euterpe Catinga. I Hope mine survives, Thank you @happypalms so much, I was worried about him, but I found him a spot where he gets shade in morning, lunchtime-afternoon sun and dinner time shade. He is looking way better than before, he is recovering ❤️‍🩹

Thanks @lordbiznezz❤️👍😁

You’re welcome I get temperatures of above 42 degrees Celsius with hot dry north west winds in summer and it’s brutal that sort of heat in the bush, even the leaves feel hot to touch in the garden all I can do is shut the house up curtains drawn and stay out of the heat of the day. But the first thing I do of a morning is water my garden close to the house it helps a bit in keeping the house cool until you just have to open up the place, yes I do have a air conditioning but dont  use it if you did use it you would never go outside in summer again.

Thanks @DoomsDavenice to meet you as well, Ive heard about you on the internet, you’re famous, if I hopefully get the chance, I would love to visit your garden and see the Chambreyonia, I worry so much because I am deeply attached for them, they are like my children, it get sad when I lose them, I know I can get them back, but it makes me sad, I take care of them like humans, I worry a bit too much sometimes lol 😂

I must be honest, the pictures are from my neighbor garden. Mine starting to look good but nowhere near his 350+ species garden
