Am making this thread to post larger amounts of temperature screenshots from this winter. I know someone did this last winter I believe and I didn't want to blow up the other thread with them.

Lows throughout Northern/North-Central FL this morning at about 7:15 CST.

Following 2 are my area showing the colder temps away from the bayou. My house is in a real cold spot because we hit 25 this morning (but am still south of the road outlined in yellow).

But further east into 30a/Santa Rosa/Grayton Beach coastal microclimate isn't as much as Destin proper.

Absolutely stunned by what has happened! Didn’t think I’d see anything like it in my lifetime.
Pretty though.
All things considered,  I think the barrier islands here fared pretty well. All stations reporting a low of 21F for my area.

Copying my post from the other thread:

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here after moving to Colorado. This event has been fascinating - especially from a microclimate perspective. New Orleans held up really well, but that is some phenomenally cold air all the way down to the coast. You can use the below link to access stations reporting to the NWS; sort by ‘minimum temperature’ and turn the density up if you want to view more stations.  Hope everyone is well!

My area around 7:20am. Temps had already warmed a little at this point. My low near where it says Eglin Air Force Base was 22.

What do we think the survival of mexican fan, various dates and things will be in the upper gulf areas that hit the 8°-12° marks? I happen to be in one of the areas unfortunately lol. It only lasted for a few hours at those temps I noticed.

Thanks,

Kurt

Based on what I heard of survival of those in TX in Feb 2021 at similar temps, I think it's possible a good amount will survive (losing all fronds though), but some may die too.

Thanks Matthew. I found a few other things on palmtalk. They said watch for the new spear to fall over on a washingtonia. If that happens they said it's moat likely dead. How did you do there? We went very low, but I protected everything I could. I'm a master at saving the citrus at this point lol

When we sell plants from the CFPACS booth at Plantae-palooza next month, this is why I always ask "What part of town are you in?" first when asked for recommendations:

i took some shots of the coldest spots in the area i found, and some edge spots that have freezing readings not in a freeze warning.  my area is closest to Jacksonville this morning, and  colder than anywhere else on the peninsula BY FAR.  Radiational freezes are nasty here, so i guess i get to see what the canopy did for a few plants.  Gotta deal with whatever i get anyway but this winter belongs in the trashcan.

A look around Pinellas has a few stations in more open areas at freezing or just below for the low this morning as far as gulfport/tyrone blvd, so thats not that typical, at least compared to the last decade or so.  Hopefully the 26.6 in my yard is as infrequent.  Temps shot up fast at sunup at least.
