A new chamaedorea in the collection I purchased from the annual pacsoa plant sale about 12 months ago. From my understanding it was Colin Wilson who introduced it into cultivation in Australia. So if you’re in for any new palms  get along to the pacsoa plant  sales coming up.

That’s a very special palm Richard and looks like it’s really happy! It’s in good hands!

Richard never heard of Chamaedorea rhizomatosa, surely in Europe there isn't even one

Colin was quite insistent I purchased it knowing I was a collector. You gotta get this one he said, then the story behind it. Regardless of the story I would have purchased it!

Yes I thought this one might get you. Good luck trying to find one. Apparently there as rare as chickens teeth. I knew you would like it.

Richard I was the only one in Europe who had chamaedorea rojasiana, Donald R. Hodel had sent me the seeds, in exchange I had given him my seeds of phoenix roebelenii x reclinata that I had made

Now that’s a milestone in palm land. Having rojasiana, and seeds from Donald R.Hodel even better. A fair exchange indeed.

It's not easy to get other chamaedorea than elegans, microspadix or metallica.  Sometimes seiffrizii or hooperiana. I once spotted a metallica with pinnate leaves. Since then I'm searching this one.

Sometimes RPS has seeds but very expensive and not my pinnate metallica.

There is a saying if you don’t buy a particular plant or palm you have always wanted when you see it for sale, you may never see it again for sale. I never hesitate to buy when I see some plant I have  always wanted regardless of price, a collector will purchase no matter what the cost. The only rhizomatosa in Australia are from my knowledge clones so no chance of seed for that variety in a long time only clones available.

Hi Richard,

Unfortunately the one I had seen was growing at the palm garden of Frankfurt.  I'm pretty sure the gardeners wouldn't have been happy if I would have taken it with me🤣
