I was in Norfolk, VA a few days ago and thought I would share. Honestly the amount of palms they have here is impressive.  This is USDA Zone 8b

It’s a nice area. The palms planted on the main tourist drag right near the ocean often look bad but they look better in Norfolk and inland VA beach.

Yes they often do look bad by the coast. Here's a cool house I saw in a Video from @Alex High And then I tracked down the house lol. https://www.google.com/maps/@36.9081048,-75.9928663,3a,64.4y,358.23h,90.53t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sr9tWfKWEFP0IZnAYSnHDdg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D-0.53437586387777%26panoid%3Dr9tWfKWEFP0IZnAYSnHDdg%26yaw%3D358.23127322617916!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDIwNS4xIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Im typically not a fan of the plastic wrapping but I love seeing that Washingtonia and the Serenoa repens clump!

Also theres a CIDP! I love seeing more unique palms planted in NC and VA. And they look like theyve been in the ground for years

Same I'm not a big fan of rapping palms in plastic he probably doesn't even need to protect most of them over there unless there's a pretty bad freeze but most of the years in Virginia Beach they should be okay Without any protection
