Ever since I got into Palm trees at the age of 13, I've wanted to see these ridiculously tall, skinny, curvy palms twisting above turquoise water in person! Over 20 years later, I finally got the chance to do it! This is south of Barrera in the Dominican Republic.

When it comes to seeing the rarest palms in the DR, Leonel Mera is the man with the connections! Taking the same trip with him in 2020, no matter where we went across the island, EVERYBODY knew him. 👍😄
