A visit to Brisbane botanical gardens. Quite an impressive garden with a lot of age with the plants on display throughout the garden. They certainly have there work cut out for them with this garden. It’s absolutely gorgeous. With some very large mature palms.

Erica had taken a photo of the Keriodoxa and asked me what it was. i was glad to show her some nice established young ones, which of course she naturally bought.  I didn't get to look around the garden today. Chelsea had the sulks and was bored so I had to come home before blood was shed.

Richard did you go to Brisbane to buy plants?

I spent a couple evenings in coastal QLD prior to visiting an inland place called Century Zinc. That was 20 years ago. Brisbane was a beautiful city when I was there and Townsville in August has very good weather.

So I guess I would have looked like this one then in the picture.  I really didn’t have much of walk around the gardens as the car was full of palms and we all know you can’t leave plants inside hot cars especially in sunny Queensland. Iam glad you at least talked her into buying a kerriodoxa if we can convert one person a day into a palm nut we are getting there slowly.

Gyuseppe I would fly to the moon to buy palms let alone drive to Brisbane for them. With such rare beauties up for grabs you gotta do what a palm nut would do.

Then it’s time you got back here and had a good holiday again. Australia to me is a very unique beautiful country. With white sandy beach’s to lush tropical rainforests to barren desert landscape. In one day there can be snow, drought, fires and floods  that’s what makes Australia so unique so different wherever you go.

Townsville had an earthquake last night and a cyclone is coming this way which means Brisbane will flood yet again.  I think I will move to the Antarctic where the weather is more predictable.

She got interested in palms after seeing some of mine so when I bought any I always doubled up on species I knew she would like, This was her first palm show and she left with that big 4WD of hers packed like a can of sardines.  She needed no encouragement at all.

Been a long time, but aren't the outskirts of the city at a higher altitude?

Good on her there is no age limit to get interested in anything, actually I don’t think there is an age limit in life at all. I could see you skydiving bungee jumping marlin fishing the list is endless…..

Not where I live. It is, like many suburbs here, at sea level.
