I just got photos from a friend who is offering to share a few seeds of this palm with me.

Can you help name this one?

Much appreciated!

That genus was my guess but I still struggle with Palm identification.

Thanks so much!

And funny about the jelly beans..

@Cyndy Adair Even after all my years with palms, I can only ever identify adult specimens of species I am really familiar with. Sometimes I get the genus right but even that is not guaranteed. What makes me feel better is that a few months ago I had a visit from  people with well known palm collections and their guesswork was as inaccurate as mine.  Now I tend to take whatever is on offer and hope to recognise it in years to come. Don't you think that is an admirable attitude for an old coffin dodger  like me ?

Peachy

I came. I saw. I purchased

27.35 south.

Warm subtropical, with occasional frosts.

I think there is much to admire about you Peachy!

I decided to forgive myself for being unable to sort out all the palms by sight and now rely heavily on labels.

Every time I print labels I am happy knowing my own palms will have a name and I don’t have to recall for visitors.

I just direct them to take a photo of the Latin name with no worries about the need to pronounce or spell it.

I can always correct the label should someone visit who points out a mistake.

Many thanks to all those on this forum who continue to help me with tentative identification of many tropical plants!
