My Teddy Bear Palms have developed dark spots and are browning. Please help me identify the issue and take steps to save them.

Keep it well watered. This time of year in Florida is tough on plants(especially ones that aren’t established or drought tolerant). Temps starting getting warm/hot with plenty of wind and very little rain. The windy, warm, and dry weather can rapidly dry things out. Come June, God willing, your palm will be getting regular rains and you can put the hose down for a few months.

Was it in full sun before planting? Its a darker green than mine is in full sun, so it may be getting overheated and stressed, and could burn if its not adapted. It should grow out of it with the watering described above, they are fast growers.

@Amcsherry welcome to Palmtalk!  I'd guess they were grown under shade cloth and are getting some sunburn.  The brown tips and the reddish brown edges are pretty typical for "transplant shock" from part shade into full sun.  Keep up the watering and wait at least a month before giving it any fertilizer at all.

@Amcsherry welcome!

I’m in California and concur with all the previous comments and note a few things: don’t plant Teddy Bears under utility wires and the eaves of your house; give good drainage and plenty of water and be prepared for when they trunk and rocket skyward.
