after looking at CIDPs and other exotics yesterday, I was extremely surprised by Sabine today.

A CIDP is definitely how she is described. However, very self ...

by the way from italy🤗😁

i rather think that it is again a phoenix reclinata although it is clearly described with CIDP or maybe a hybrid form of CIDP.

the two trunks are also special and not in a CIDP or am I wrong ?

the spines and leaves are also not extremely sharp, although the plant is only just over 2ft / 60cm high and is still very young.

we will be planting them out soon anyway and Sabine has received permission for the community garden.

2 trunks just means the nursery planted 2 different palms into that container. It doesn't mean they are the same plant.

A full shot of the palm might help.

Species I'm growing from seed: Verschaffeltia splendida, Chrysalidocarpus leptocheilos, Licuala grandis, Hyophorbe verschaffeltii, Johannesteijsmannia altifrons, Bentinckia condapanna, Livistona benthamii, Licuala mattanensis 'Mapu', Beccariophoenix madagascariensis, Chrysalidocarpus decaryi.

I am surprised that you can not recognize two different plants from a main stem with a side offshoot. Alone the facts that both stems are parallel to each other and of identical size in such young age are dead giveaway.

Konstantinos, you're right.

Since we couldn't leave it alone, we took a closer look at what it is, CIDP.

Two

At the same time, I couldn't get the two apart without damaging something

Lol it is already impossible to separate two seedlings after just one year since germination! In such cases I resort to a saw and to a violent separation of the root ball. Here is a genuine reclinata hybrid with 'Seitenspröße'.

the persuasion work has borne fruit, Konstantinos.

I separated the CIDP by hand and didn't damage any roots, but I'm a bit tired now...

Each one now has its own place.

both locations are good for protecting

grows dear CIDP grows 🤗

thank you also very much for your explinations and Informations 🤗😄
