today we have the CIDP

planted out in the community garden.

the first thing I did was to take a wider pot and cut the bottom completely open. Then I filled it with substrate and finally planted the small CIDP.

So it can be watered separately.

Now we are looking forward to seeing how it thrives and will keep you up to date.

The wooden partition can be unscrewed easy and enlarged at any time.

Are you planning to bring it indoors over the winter?

How long has the Mediterranean Fan palm been in the ground?

SeanK: no. we will protect them.

the three (2 humilis 1 cerifera) have been in the ground for around 8 years.

the cerifera has only had very slight leaf damage so far and that at the beginning, not since then. it is the warmest spot in the community garden

That is a very crowded space and is only going to get much more so. How did the idea of leaving the CIDP in the pot come to fruition?

the bottom of the pot is open.

I have removed it.

The idea is that the CIDP can be watered separately and has more substrate. Our idea is that it can grow and root better this way.

We will extend the wooden frame next to it

the soil is sandy, with some clay and earth.

since we couldn't leave it alone, we took a closer look today at what it is, CIDP.

Two

At the same time, I couldn't get the two apart without damaging something

We replanted them afterwards.

Sabine doesn't want me to separate it ...

the persuasion work has borne fruit.

I separated the CIDP by hand and didn't damage any roots, but I'm a bit tired now...

Each one now has its own place.

both locations are good for protecting

grows dear CIDP grows 🤗😁

I recall seeing them on Mainau. Do they protect them or bring them inside for the Winter?

The last time they had indoor overwintering was about 5 years ago, according to my memory.

We ourselves will leave them outside with protection of course.
