A nice healthy maxima flowering with some good amount of seeds thanks to the wet season. And the Chambeyronia can’t help itself giving the flowers a little tickle.

Cunninghamiana are from some very cool areas and are the toughest of the archontophoenix species. All the other species come from a much warmer climate. But keep trying to grow the other species you just never know. The maxima species takes a fair amount of cool weather well worth trying to grow.

I have a few varieties of Archontophoenix , most recently Maxima and Purpurae . They all seem to be doing fine , my Alexandrae has been in my courtyard for well over 25 years . I think you are right , my courtyard is very warm and this palm does not burn during even the hottest months. The Cunninghamiana are on the cooler , west side of my house .
Very nice Maxima , Richard . They really are at home there in the land down under! Harry

I have to plant my myolensis. It's been repotted recently but is already almost too big for the pot.

I like it and all the way in sunny Tassie with all them apples. That’s definitely cool tolerance for maxima. My ones get to 2 degrees so they take it well.
