At the bottom of my hill, there's a few washingtonias.

So I decided to go down there to see what the rain has brought.

As Kim pointed out, there seems to be a lot of tires around my place.

I was on my roof patching leaks and I can hear the water running all the way up there.  The hill is porous and soaks up the water then it just comes out for weeks after it's stopped raining.  There's still water running down the streets.

The vids no worky for me either.

Bummer on the leaks. The erosion doesn't look too bad. I have some too that almost took out a double headed Yucca.

OK, I think this works now.  What I had to do was use the "direct link" from photobucket, then paste that into my reply here.  Then backswipe it and click on the "http://" button and give it a name.  If I just pasted the link into here it was abbreviating it automatically when I hit reply and that's why it just kicked us onto photobuckets homepage and not to the movie.  Sorry if that's too much info but if you have the problem then you'll know what to do.

Enjoy

You're going to have to change the name of your place to "Fallingwater".  Oh, is that already taken?  (Ok, I feel remorseful about the tire farm comment, go ahead, spank me.)

The house leaks are bad news, but they can be fixed.  The stream running through your property is just amazing!!!  (I saw the videos.) MattyB's going to have a riverine palm forest, Madagascar-style.  Planted out, it will be just awesome.

So you could see the movies Kim?  hmmmm.

Not only do I have big tractor tires as a retaining system (I guess you could call it), but over the years people have rolled tires down the steep slopes into the canyon bottom.  Ask BS, we took a hike down there one day.  There's tires everywhere!  It would be kinda fun to watch a tire ghost ride it's way to the bottom.  But not fun to haul it back up the hill, thus the tire graveyard!  Maybe I'll name my garden "Michellin Moutain".

MATT!  Way Cool!!  I remember us talking about what it would be like when it rained!!  You need to build a BIG catchment tank!!!  :)  I think I spied Jen at the end of movie 2.  (I liked all 4 movies...  :) )

Plus, I remember you pointing out your "indoor creek" when we moved you in!  :(

The stream is still running at a fast pace.  You can still hear it flowing from my house.  Water is still running along and across the road at several points as you drive up to my house.  The rock hillside just keeps leaking.

Matty!

You have a cool place.  Wow.

Natural watercourse, even if not year-round.

Should be interesting if we get torrential rains like in 2004-2005 . . . ..
