I  bought this tree in a local plant show.

Just wanted to share.

It was an entry in one of the local shows way back and appears in the commercial sections very rarely.

I used to have one of these 10 years or so ago as a houseplant, where it's a little tricky. It should do well outdoors in your area and here in SoFla. I haven't seen one for years; now I'm on a mission...

SoCal and SoFla; zone varies by location.

I love this plant. I only wished it grew here outside.

Saipan-cnmi-- Are the leaves rough like sand paper?

nope I don't think there were any.  But now that Ive seen the picture I think I do see them growing in some odd out of the way places.  I don't think they are regarded as ornamental over here though.  I have not seen those sold as garden plants-- I even have the sinking suspicion that they might even be regarded as "weeds"
