I forgot to list that one in the seed post, here is a glaucescens I'm about to plant. They are slow, but I surmised from the PoA lit its kind of a mini-coronata (has the 5-ranked frond arrangement). I don't hold out much hope in the cold dept. long term anyway, no Sy comes close to romanz. for tolerance.post-1730-1230587081_thumb.jpg

Hey Dave, (Tala).

I bought 10 Syagrus Glaucescens from the Bobicks years ago, and mine have taken frost and the 2003 blast and did'nt blink an eye. I gave Ed one recently, i hope it's not the one that perished!!!!!!

Also, i'm happy that people are posting pics/knowledge about the S.Pseudococos!!! If mine is not a hybrid S.psuedo, then please help me understand what other Syagrus has that large of a seed??? I would love to find out what that palm is!!!

I'm thinkin ... smithii has that size fruit but its obviously not that one, maybe macrocarpa (never see them), or just "plain" costae. Thats all that really fits (that I know of).

My S. glaucescens are one year old and they have only 2 or 3 leaves. Very slow!

Floribunda has s. pseudococos plants, but I've seen seeds on E-Bay if you don't mind getting ripped off.

Be warned that seeds might be a bit expensive. If my memory serves they're quite large, and will likely require a box, and arouse the suspicions of border goons . . .
