Palm in the Seychelles?

Clark, a new member, took this pic. I guessed edulis only because the local person had said "edula" or something like that?  But when Clark said it had red seed, I didn't think edulis. Or ???

Damn, gorgeous fruit!

Is red fruit characteristic of just that subspecies, or the species in general?

How long 'til  these young ones in Port St Lucie might bloom?

Correct! L. Rotundifolia it is not.  On this palm everything stands up ...no leafs or seed hang down!...It's a very clean palm!.  And L. Rotundifolia it's not! :(

Clark,

I have to say, I just dug out my palm books, and it sure seems to fit the descriptions and pictures as a rotundifolia.  Not sure about the Luzon part, it mentions those as having "green" trunks as such, and a "deeper red" seed.

Cool, either way.
